Welcome to the technology blog for MArch students at the Grenfell-Baines School of Architecture, University of Central Lancashire, Preston, UK.
Content is intended to support evolution of studio projects through developing and recasting a weekly cycle of personal research, decision making and recording over a two month period. The programme identifies and bridges across six thematic areas; strategy, structure, skin, environment, integration and legacy. These themes track and model the RIBA Plan of Work 2013 along its eight stages from strategic definition to post-occupancy.
The blog also aims to encourage students to investigate and explore methodologies embedded in digital design as big data and BIM increasingly become pervasive and ubiquitous drivers for change both within the UK and internationally.
